You can purchase a TVL SIM card for your mobile (or a mobile telephone and SIM card) and you will have your own Vanuatu number.  This is an inexpensive option.  Alternatively you will have your usual number on a roaming service – roaming costs can be very high. The 2 main services are Digicell and TVL. TVL has a better range and works well at Pacifique Vue.  You can buy mobiles, SIM cards and credit at the TVL counter at the airport when you arrive, or at the TVL store in Port Vila (Lini Highway, on your left as you drive into Port Vila, opposite the Anchor Inn).

does Pacifique Vue have free internet?

Yes, the free and reliable wireless internet service will pop up on your device.  Guests can access the internet 24 hours a day from Pacifique Vue.

When you are in Port Vila, one of the best internet connections is at Chantillys on the Bay which is on the Lini Highway (main road) on the right as you head into Port Vila.  You can sit in the lobby or the restaurant and enjoy a coffee, wine or meal while surfing the net (please ask the staff for the password).

Yes, Pacifique Vue is only 10 kilometres from the restaurant at the Benjor Beach Club on Mele Bay.  The Officer's Club Restaurant and Bar overlooks the water and occupies the site of the World War II American Officers' Club.

The climate is sub-tropical.  We recommend visiting at any time because even when it is hot and humid you can swim in the ocean fed pool or take a dip in the ocean.  From April to September it is not as humid and the air temperature and water temperature are still very warm.   Water temperature in Vanuatu averages 22 degrees Celsius in winter and rises to 28 degrees Celsius in summer.  Air temperature ranges from 20 to 32 degrees Celsius.  You will never be uncomfortably cold in Vanuatu.

The driest months are June, July, August, September, October and November.

You do not need a lot of clothes.  Bring a long sleeved garment for the evenings.

There are mosquitoes in the more humid months however they are not a problem compared with other areas in Vanuatu because Pacifique Vue is located on the waterfront and enjoys sea breezes.

However because of the threat of dengue fever in the tropics, we recommend you take precautions and use repellent.  Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about anti-malaria tablets and treatment.

The 3 king size beds at Pacifique Vue all have mosquito nets.  You can leave your doors and shutters open and remain protected.
