Beating into the wind north of Crete

Manali and the boys spent a couple of long days and very long nights sailing west into a strengthening north west wind.  They pushed on past Heraklion and stopped in Rethymno (Rethymnon).  Being early in the season, the port and customs are still closed however they have managed to settle in to the old Venetian harbour regardless of this small administrative issue. Nothing like some easy going Mediterranean spirit or mañana to lessen the paperwork burden. Sadly, Manali has arrived too early to enjoy Rethymno's annual festival, a two week celebration of Cretan wine, music and dance held in July.  Hopefully the team can procure some of the delicious locally produced olive oil to take aboard before they set off towards the Greek island of Antikythera.
